The first of five starting flights of the NT$ 17 Million guaranteed Gods of Poker Taipei 2026 Main Event has concluded well after midnight and five survivors bagged up chips out of 35 entries in the NT$ 33,000 flagship tournament.
That wraps up the half-way point of The Trial of Wisdom at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City as Day 5 out of 10 has come to a conclusion. However, another five days of thrilling live poker action awaits and the crown jewel on the schedule may perhaps become one of the best value tournaments here in Taiwan with a potential overlay looming right out of the gates.
After a lengthy bubble, South Korea's Daeyoung Park went from last in chips to top of the leaderboard whereas Chien Hung Chi experienced the same rush only to be fall from grace prior and then become the last player to leave empty-handed. Park was among the last players to even enter Flight A as his registration slip has the number 32, and he turned his 120,000 starting stack into massive 1,559,000.
Malaysia's Lance Goh burst the bubble with pocket tens against the ace-five of the serial jammer Chi, who eventually came up short of securing a min-cash via the opening heat. Li Kung finished in third place with 695,000 in chips, followed by fellow Taiwanese players Jung An "I just want to go home" Chiang (611,000) and CTP Club legend Chia Yun Wu (329,000).
The blinds for Day 2 will roll back to 8,000-16,000/16,000 but until then, another four flights in the next three days are set to be completed here in Taiwan.

The end of the previous level brought no further all-in showdowns and South Korea's Daeyoung Park got one three-bet shove for 382,000 through against Jung An Chiang, who opted to min-raise fold.
In the meanwhile, Chia Yun Wu had become the shortest stack by a small margin because of that and the players have just come back from the next 15-minute break.
New blinds are 15,000-30,000/30,000 and the average has dropped to only 23 big blinds.
Even the Hyper Turbo High Roller champion has been crowned while only Flight E of the Accumulator Event is still ongoing with 18 players out of 76 entries remaining.

In a single-raised battle of the blinds, Chien Hung Chi bet the 10 ♠️ 8 ♥️ 7 ♦️ flop for 40,000 and the 9 ♠️ turn for 60,000, both of which Daeyoung Park called. Chi then jammed the A ♠️ river and Park folded.
He was all-in for 142,000 from the small blind next and got it through, then jammed 192,000 and got it done again.
Jung An Chiang soon after raised to 50,000 into Park's big blind, who defended. Park check-called 30,000 on the J ♥️ 7 ♥️ 3 ♥️ flop before the J ♠️ turn was checked. Park checked the 5 ♥️ river and faced a bet of 100,000.
The South Korean smirked, grinned and called.
Chiang shook his head and exposed the A ♣️ 2 ♦️ for a bluff, Park earned the pot with Q ♥️ 4 ♠️ for a flush to the queen.

Just before the end of the second level, Man Hin Siu raised to 5,000 and Chia Yun Wu three-bet to 12,000 in the next seat. It folded back to Siu who jammed for 92,000 and Wu folded.
Jung Ho Im had entered while the hand played out but didn't get to participate yet as they headed into the second 15-minute break.
During the same time period, the late registration for the Titan Stack Daily NT$ 11,000 was about to close and more than 30 entries in the break boosted the field to 93 entries for a small overlay.
In the NT$ 220,000 Super High Roller Flight A, four players out of seven entries remain.

One hand later, Jui Heng Chang raised and then folded when Cheng jammed and Melvyn Liwanpo went all-in over the top.

In the meanwhile, Flight A of the NT$ 220,000 Super High Roller features Rene Von Reden, Mikael Andersson and Rudy Edenata early on while the NT$ 11,000 Titan Stack Daily has two tables running.

Nine players have been pre-registered for Flight A to take advantage of the 50% rakeback offer, which gives back NT$ 1,500 for the promotion that only applies for the opening flight.
Among them are Sin Lan Chen, Kristof Segers, Kai Cheng Hsu, leaderboard contender Shi Rong Wang and CTP Club legend Chia Yun Wu.
The reward can actually be claimed throughout Flight A but in order to do so, the registration at the venue must have been completed until yesterday.
However, at the time of writing, only Jui Heng Chang has been seated and is awaiting opponents to kick off the action. We will be bringing you hands as soon as the cards are officially in the air.
The Trials of Wisdom GOP Taipei Main Event 2026 Kicks Off Today

The wait is over at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City as the flagship tournament of the Trial of Wisdom is set to kick off at 12.30 p.m. local time. Two of the five GOP gauntlets have already been awarded in the last four days but the most cherished one will be up for grabs in the NT$ 33,000 Main Event, which boasts a massive NT$ 17 Million guarantee
Five different starting flights are available for poker enthusiasts from near and far and they each feature with the new improved Cronus Structure with an additional slower blind increase during the registration period.
All players receive 120,000 in chips and the first level of Flight A lasts 60 minutes at blinds of 500-1,000/1,000 to give all early birds a total of 120 big blinds worth. What follows are two 120-minute levels with small blind increases before the registration closes at 30 big blinds. From there on, the levels last 40 minutes each and the action will go all the way until the money is reached with approximately 13.5% of the field set to advance.
The following two days will feature an identical structure before the last two flights on Friday, September 25, 2026, have 30 and 20-minute levels after the respective registration has closed.
If the buy-in is too steep for your pockets, satellites are available for as little as NT$ 7,700 throughout the next few days.
Earlier this year during The Titan Assembly at the very same venue in cooperation with CTP Club, Chih Wei Fan topped a 556-entry strong field to claim the largest slice of the NT$ 21,617,280 prize pool. Back then, the buy-in was slightly more expensive at NT$ 45,000 and it remains to be seen whether or not Fan will be back to try and earn another stunning GOP gauntlet trophy.
Throughout the next six days, the GOP live reporting team will be providing updates from the felt in the Main Event and cards-up coverage and live stream action will be available as well for the final two days.
It will be a busy day of live poker in the heart of Taipei City as another edition of the value NT$ 11,000 Titan Stack Daily awaits with a NT$ 1 Million guarantee as of half past noon as well. Both flights of the GOP NT$ 220,000 Super High Roller are scheduled along with several one-day tournaments from low to middle stakes.
Furthermore, Flight E of the Accumulator Event starts at 7 p.m. local time and the late registration closes at 9.45 p.m. local time. All those who already bagged up chips in the previous flights can participate once again and will receive a NT$ 25,000 bonus for each subsequent bag, all stacks will be combined for the grand finale.
