Flight B Day 1 chip leader Seunghee Park

The second starting flight of the 2026 Gods of Poker Manila Main Event has come to a conclusion, albeit just for the five scheduled levels of play on Day 1. After nine hours of play, a total of 34 entries were recorded and 15 players bagged up chips with South Korea's Seunghee Lee way out in front holding a stack of 757,500.

With very aggressive play, Lee climbed up on the leaderboard in the second half of the day inside of the Grand Ballroom at the five star City of Dreams Manila Luxury Hotel Resort & Casino before he then notched up several big pots to finish atop the leaderboard.

In three-way action against Ville Pohjalainen and Doyoung Lee, he turned a full house with king-four and Pohjalainen paid off his chunky river bet when he improved to the ace-high flush. Pohjalainen made it through with more than two times the starting stack and advanced with 253,500 whereas Lee then lost a flip to Park with ace-queen against pocket tens to bust.

Another player from Finland sits in second place and that is Petteri Miettinen (424,500), while fellow South Korean Eunseok Choi (393,000) is third. Shenglai Zhang, who has already won a trophy during The Arena of Champions, bagged up a very healthy 388,000 and Pandora's Mystery Bounty runner-up Lukasz Jankowski follows with 369,000.

Karpov Falls Before the End

By Christian Zetzsche

Danil Karpov

During the final hands of the night, Danil Karpov ran a "sick bluff" against San Kang that wasn't rewarded on a board of 5 ♦️ 3 ♦️ 2 ♦️ J ♠️ 7 ♣️ as Kang called all-in for 127,000 with the 10 ♦️ 8 ♦️ for the ten-high flush.

Karpov only had A ♦️ Q ♠️ for the nut flush blocker and they counted the chips. Karpov's 128,500 covered by only 1,500 in chips.

Two hands later, he was forced all-in from the big blind. Czardy Rivera raised from under the gun to 4,000 and Shenglai Zhang called on the button.

Rivera bet the A ♣️ K ♥️ 10 ♥️ flop for 3,000 to get called and check-folded the 7 ♦️ turn to a bet of 6,000.

Karpov revealed the 8 ♦️ 6 ♣️ and needed a nine, as Zhang was ahead with the K ♣️ 6 ♠️ . The 8 ♠️ river wasn't enough and that sent Karpov out with two hands to go.

At half past noon, the second flight of the 2026 Gods of Poker Manila Main Event is set to kick off and it will feature the deepest structure for poker enthusiasts from near and far. The flagship tournament of the festival dubbed as The Arena of Champions features a buy-in of PHP 82,500 with a staggering PHP 30 Million guarantee and starting stack of 120,000 in chips.

With the innovative Cronus Structure, the late registration is open for a shorter time compared to most other major international brands while maintaining plenty of room to navigate at the poker tables.
