Song and Lee Top Main Event Flights; Influencer Conquest Lights Up The Stage

The Gods of Poker Taipei: The Titan Assembly has now crossed its halfway point. Running from January 8 to 18 at the CTP Asia Poker Arena, Day 6 saw the tournament floor come alive with Flight B and Flight C at the helm and the Influencer Conquest on center stage. 

With 95 events offered in total throughout the festival, the day's side events also filled up a portion of the room, resulting in more multi-series podium finishes and another double winner. 

GOP Main Event: Flight B & C Recaps

Flight B kicked off the day with another batch of players taking advantage of the Double Bubble Protection while another batch qualified for single Bubble Protection. At the close of registration, 92 entries were locked in with only 13 secured a spot at Day 2. 

Jihoon Song

It took another ten levels before the survivors were determined and at the top of that list was Jihoon Song with a stack of 1,850,000. Song eliminated several players throughout the day, including Ta Wei Wang on a flush over top pair and Kim Wah Chiu on a flip to reach a million in chips. 

Xuan Ming Jason Chin

However before Song's rise, there were multiple players that shined early starting with Xuan Ming Jason Chin who delivered the first elimination. 

Kouichi Baba became the first player to amass a million which didn't hold as he got involved in numerous pots including a four-way all in that ended with Yuya Asakawa ballooning to the biggest stack. 

As the flight trimmed to the final two tables, Kang Chien Shao took charge after eliminating Baba and Junghun Choi while Marc Rivera surged as the bubble round approached, getting paid in full with pocket aces.

One of the more intense hands seen all day was between Rivera and Gyeongbyeong Lee where the latter used up fifteen time banks before surrendering his hand. 

Another player catapulting into the seven digit marker was Shen Bo Yu on a three-way with ace-jack spiking the ace to dust two players holding pocket kings. 

Famous Vietnamese vlogger Ngoc Huyen Quach aka Gemmy Tu An also caused a stir with two eliminations dealt to send her to the upper tier. The second one was an exciting set over set flop that ended with Chiayun Wu busting on the soft bubble. 

The bubble burst immediately after with short stacked Yoshimoto Shinya eliminated by Yao Hou Chun. However, all was not lost for Shinya who had bubble protection to receive his buy-in back in GOP tournament credits. 

While there were numerous standout hands throughout the flight, one of the wildest took place early on. A three-way all in erupted at the flop after everyone got a piece of the board. It ended with Chang Hyuk knocking out two players with his nut flush.

Seokyoung Lee

The fastest structure of the Main Event was offered at the evening's Flight C with two 60-minutes levels of registration available. Once it closed, the levels increased at a rapid 20 minutes pace. 

Only six advanced from a starting field of 42 entries. Seokyoung Lee aka Tiger emerged as the flight leader with 1,550,000 bagged up.

Influencer Conquest - Teams Edition

Full ring for the Influencer Conquest - Teams Edition with 18 contenders randomly split into two teams. The action was nonstop as players rotated in and out, creating a lively table filled with banter, momentum swings, and plenty of highlight-reel hands. 

When the dust settled, Twins Poker and JC Ann Sotelo emerged as champions, claiming Arena Event trophies along with NT$ 60,000 in GOP tournament credits.

Day 6 Winners

Kelly Tasman

Among the next batch of side event winners were Alfie Adam, Liang Su, and Chiayun Wu, all of them picking up their third trophy of the series. Kelly Tasman also outshined as the lone double trophy winner of the day. Tasman won the Aphrodite's Mystery Bounty and the 6 Card PLO.
