Huang's commanding stack came courtesy of the biggest pot of Day 2, when his full house earned him a massive payday against Yuetsu Shu. The hand sent Shu to the opposite end of the leaderboard with just 13 big blinds heading into the final table.
Second-ranked Daniel Neilson also enjoyed a strong run, highlighted by a double knockout that ended the campaigns of Day 2 starting chip leader Yun Yao Hung and Taiwanese pro Chi Jen Chen.
Several players maintained healthy stacks throughout the day, including Koji Ohira, Matas Kacinskas, Hua Huang, and Kilian Loffler. Loffler entered Day 2 third in chips and wasted no time building on his advantage, at one point reaching an impressive 170 big blinds before securing his place among the final nine.
For Hua Huang, he was the runt of a sick set over set cooler. Although it shaved a large chunk of his stack, he was quick to recover to earn his final table seat.
Also keeping his sights on another deep finish was Hiroki Karatsu, who placed fourth at the inaugural GOP Incheon Main Event back in May. Karatsu is the only player remaining who has previously reached a GOP Main Event final table. Karatsu navigated a roller-coaster Day 2 to bag 22 big blinds.
Probably surviving the most all-in showdowns was Hau-Yun Chen. Even at the final stretch, at ten-handed, Chen doubled up against the chip leader. Shortly after, he went on to eliminate Go Saito in 10th place to bring the final table bubble to an end.
