Haisheng Qiu
Day 2 of the GOP Incheon Main Event wrapped up with the final nine players established and Haisheng Qiu bagging the largest stack worth 96 big blinds.
The lone player carrying the flag for China, Qiu built his commanding stack through three pots during the final two tables. He first survived a showdown against then-chip leader Lester Edoc, when he rivered an ace with ace-jack to crack Edoc’s pocket jacks.
Qiu followed that up by scooping a three-way pot with a set to take the lead for the first time then eliminated Sascha Manns in 13th place with pocket tens over ace-ten.
Kyung Min Lee
Kyung Min Lee finished the day second in chips with 7,625,000, equivalent to 76 big blinds entering the final table. Lee also found fortune against Edoc when his pocket tens cracked pocket aces.
Rounding out the top three stacks was Woo Hyon Shin, who caught a spark with 12 players remaining after rivering two pair to stay alive. From there, Shin completely shifted gears, railroaded the table, leading to the elimination of Wei Sun in 12th place.
Lester Edoc
The road to the final table came with plenty of heartbreak, none more so than for Edoc, who suffered several brutal bad beats during the final two tables before busting on the final table bubble.
The remaining nine players all locked up a shot at the KRW 148,280,000 (~USD 98,000) top prize and the prestigious Black-and-Gold Gauntlet.
