John Matsuda
John Matsuda opened to 325,000 with the A ♦️ Q ♦️ to pick up calls from Dakota Anderson in the hijack with the 9 ♥️ 9 ♣️ and Thanh Cao Nguyen, who defended the 7 ♠️ 6 ♦️ in the big blind. The Q ♥️ 8 ♦️ 4 ♦️ flop was all Matsuda and he bet 230,000 when checked to.
Anderson folded and Nguyen then had other plans with a check-raise to 700,000. Matsuda called and further improved to trips on the Q ♣️ turn. They both checked to the 4 ♥️ river on which Nguyen eyeballed the stack of his opponent for a few seconds.
He fired a bet of 1,200,000 and kissed those chips goodbye shortly after when Mastsuda pushed all-in.
Lester Edoc then raised to 320,000 with the A ♣️ 3 ♣️ and Matsuda three-bet to 825,000 with the A ♠️ A ♦️ to win the next pot uncontested.
